Hey iedereen! So here we go... 1. Mijn favoriete schrijver is John Green. The Fault in Our Stars" & "Paper Towns". Deze vakantie neem ik zijn boek "Turtles All the Way Down" mee!

Hey there! As you have maybe seen on my Instagram I went to Budapest with srprs.me. With srprs.me you can book your next vacation very easily without knowing what your destination will be. They offer several options like Multi City, Backpacking, Broke,... and the option we chose was Pick A Side. With the option Pick A Side you can choose wether you want to go to northern Europe, western Europe, southern Europe or eastern Europe. So we've decided to go for eastern Europa mainly because it was the cheapest option. It's super easy to book this trip, the only thing you have to do is enter all of your details, the preferred date of departure & return & whether you would like to sleep in a hotel or hostel with or without breakfast. You pay your trip and done, let the countdown begin! One week before your departure you will receive an envelope with the scratch card & a black envelope with your travel documents, that you can only open after revealing your destination. In the meantime they show you the weather forecast of your secret destination & tell you when you will be expected at the airport. Day1: 02/02 the moment was there! We were expected at Charleroi Airport 7am were we finally got to know where we would spend our time the next 3 days. We scratched the scratch card, entered the code and guess what?! We got to go to Budapest! After arriving in Budapest we first had to find out where our hotel was located & how we should get there. We took the airport shuttle bus (100E) for only 900 HUF to Kalvin Ter M, the city center of Budapest. From there it was only a 10-minute walk to our hotel. Srprs.me chose for us the Bo18Hotel Superior. A 3-star hotel with a perfect location in the city center of Budapest. At first I was a little bit scared to find out where we would sleep the next 2 nights, because you have no idea what type of hotel it will be and for me it's important that the hotel is clean! But the Bo18Hotel pleasantly surprised me! We got a warm welcome with some basic explanation about the city & even vouchers for free welcome drinks in the bar. After refreshing ourselves in our hotelroom; we went for a stroll in the city. The first thing we visited was the Central Marktet Hall. This market hall is the largest covered market hall of Budapest with about 180 stands with local products & souvenirs! After this we walked through the shopping street all the way to the Sziget Eye. But unfortunately it started to rain so bad, so we decided to have a drink & some food in Vintage Garden. Hotspot 1: Vintage Garden Vintage Garden is a super cosy and romantical place located in Dob Street in District VII. First of all the interior is just WOW! Vintage Garden has such a welcoming atmosphere with pink details everywhere. Their staff was so friendly and they even gave us a rose! :p They have an excellent wine list and also make really nice fresh lemonades. For dinner we all tried out a pasta. I had a pasta with a creamy sauce and salmon. The sauce was super delicious! In Vintage Garden you can also have breakfast, but make sure you book your table in advance! Day 2: The second day we had a lovely breakfast in our hotel. Their breakfast wasn't super extensive, but just enough. After breakfast we took the underground to the Thermal Bath. Unfortunately we didn't bring our bathing suits to Budapest so we couldn't go inside :(. We decided to go for a walk along the Duna River all the way to the gorgeous parlement. Then we walked over the Chain Bridge and took the cable tram to the Buda Castle. It was just about to get darker, so we had an incredible view over the city with gorgeous lightening all over the city! We did a lot of walking that day, so we decided to go back to our hotel and have a drink. Hotspot2: Mazel Tov That night we chose Mazel Tov as our dinner location. It's an israelic restaurant situated in the historically jewish quarter. It's an open, urban dinner location and it gives you the feeling like you are in a garden, but covered. I never tried isrealic food before, so I was excited to give it a go! When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a long queue. It's a very popular place, so it's better to book a table in advance. Luckily we didn't had to wait so long and after 15 minutes they prepared us a table. I had read that they serve nice cocktails so I tried their Cosmopolitan! Not the best one that I've already drunk, but it was ok. For food I tried their pita with falafal, vegetables, humus and french fries. I liked it a lot and was pleasantly suprised! It was the perfect place to spend our last night. I all recommend you this place. When you are in Budapest, you must try this out! DAY 3: For our last day we decided to enjoy the first sunshine we had seen during our trip. We walked again all the way up to the Buda Castle and discovered the area of Buda. We bought some souvenirs over there and had our last drink on a terrace. Then it was unfortunately time to go back to our hotel, take our suitcases and catch our flight back to Belgium. It was a nice small getaway with my friends and perfect after a stressfull exam period! I enjoyed the srprs.me trip and a big plus for us, was the fact that we didn't had to take care of the orginisation of the trip. I think Budapest really is worth your visit, but not longer then 3 days.
Hope you liked this blogpost! Kisses, Yaëlle Hey chickies, It's that time of the year again! H&M collaborates every year with a designer label. Last year they worked with Kenzo. -xxx- Yaëlle Hey sweeties, A week ago I went to Valencia with my girls. Honestly, it was beyond my expectations! Spanish cities were already my weakness, but this trip to Valencia was more than great. With this blogpost I want to share some of the nicest places to visit & as well ABC You B&B, the B&B where I stayed. Where to stay: B&b ABC YouABCyou B&B is a lovely b&b located in the centre of Valenica. From the airport you can take the metro to Colon & from there it's only a 10-minute walk to the b&b. ABCyou is the perfect accommodation for young people. The b&b is located in a typical Spanish building, but the owners gave it a cool and modern twist! In the neighbourhood you will also find excellent dining facilities. The first morning we had a marvellous breakfast in the b&b. You can have breakfast for €7,50. It includes coffee, fresh orange juice, bread, eggs, cheese, ham, homemade jam, cake, fruit & yogurt with granola. The perfect amount to start your day! The b&b also offers their guests the possibilty to hire bikes. It's common to discover Valencia by bike, so definitely reserve your bikes in advance. We had an amazing stay in ABCyou b&b & I would recommend it to all of you! What to visit The Cathedral of Valencia The Cathedral of Santa Maria in Valencia is located in the historical part of the city. To enter the cathedral you have to pay a fee, but you can also go all the way up so you have a nice view over the city. If you want to go up you first need to do 270 steps, but it's definitely worth it! Plaza de la virgenPlaza de la Virgen is a square located behind the cathedral. In the middle of the square you find a wonderfull fountain "La Fuenta Del Agua". Plaza de la Virgen is also surrounded by beautiful buildings. Visit the place by night to see the amazing lightening. On Plaza de la Virgen I had dinner twice. But I will talk about food hotspots later in the second part of this traveldiary. Mercado Central Mercado Central or the Central Market is a roofed-over market in Valencia. It's so nice to walk there in the morning. I was not only amazed by the colorful stands, but also the architecture inside was so beautiful. There are about 300 stands where they offer you a wide range of food. Definitely visit the stands where they sell fresh juices! Jardin de turia This park used to be part of the river Turia. In the Jardin Del Turia you'll find sports grounds, fountains, botanical gardens, playgrounds, but also the modern Cuitat de les Arts i les Ciencies. I really loved to discover this park by bike. It's a distance of 9 km, but you can do this at your own tempo. Also nice is to have a picknick in the park! The beachLas Arenas is a popular beach in Valencia. It's just fun to relax there & enjoy the sea and the sun. We hired a beachchair for only €4,50 and chilled the whole day by the beach. Later that day we walked along the promenade with lots of souvenir stands. Next week I'll share the second part of this traveldiary with you. The second part will be about foodhotspots ;) !
So stay in touch & have a wonderful week! Lots of love, Yaëlle Hey folks! It's been a while since I wrote something on my blog (sorry for that :p ). After my exams in January, I had to finish my thesis about Krakow & Warsaw as soon as possible. After that, I had to start my internship in Grand Hotel Casselbergh in Bruges as a receptionist. So there was not that much time left to write new blogposts. BUT, I'm back & how ;) !!! This blogpost is about the City Marble by The Case Company. Recently the webshop The Case Company launched their new cases! With City Marble you can put your favourite spot in the world on your laptop or phone case. How cool is that? You can zoom-in, zoom-out like you are on Google Maps, you can change the layout, add some emojis or text. In short have fun & design your own City Marble case!
