Blogpost1:City hopping from Warsaw to Krakow /20-06-2016
For my thesis I went to Warsaw and Krakow for 4 days. It's not really a destination that everyone would think of, but that was actually the reason why I had chosen these Polish cities.
WARSAW
Me and my friend booked a really cheap flight with Ryanair from Brussels to Warsaw. We slept in a Novotel hotel, a basic hotel which was not so long ago renovated. From our hotelroom we had an incredible view over the city of Warsaw.

Day 1:
On the first day we strolled around in the new part of the city. Before we left for Poland, I said: "I'm not going to shop", but obviously that didn't work out! Already on the first day we went shopping in an impressive shopping centre; "Zlote Tarasy". It looked not only impressive on the outside, but also on the inside. There were shops such as; Marks & Spencers, Victoria's Secret, Zara, Sephora, TOPSHOP, Aldo,... I couldn't resist and in the Sephora store I bought my first Naked Palette by Urban Decay. I wanted this already for a long time and it's hard to find in Belgium, so I bought one!

After discovering the city all day, it was time to enjoy good food! We went to the Hard Rock Café and had some delicious cocktails and the Jumbo Combo plate. A collection of their most popular appetizers, it was so big but soooo yummy!!!
Day 2:
On the second day we went to Warsaw's largest park; "Lazienki Park". There were so many palaces in this park with squirrels everywhere. (they were soooo cute). The park was huge you could walk in there for a whole day. The weather was also very nice, so we could do some sunbathing. After strolling around, we sat down for a cake and an ice cream. Again super delicious and not expensive at all.
In the afternoon we discovered Warsaw's most beautiful boulevard "Krakowskie Przedmiescie", full of pretty palaces and the main market square with houses in different colors. The atmosphere over there was amazing! Then it was again time to eat something (YES I'm a foodie :D). We went to an Italian restaurant where we had dinner with a view. What do you need more ?!?
After that we did some late night shopping and went back to our hotel. We packed our bags because the next day it was time to go to Krakow.
KRAKOW
We travelled from Warsaw to Krakow by train. When we arrived in Krakow we immediately noticed the difference between those two cities. Warsaw is more modern and Krakow is more authentic. In Krakow we stayed in the David Boutique Hotel. This hotel was so different than the Novotel in Warsaw, quite of a disappointment actually. I wouldn't recommend it.
Day3:
The first thing we visited in Krakow was the main market square, one of the largest in Europe. There we had a very nice coffee !!! After the coffee it was time to make a ride in the horse carriages. We really felt like princesses (hihi). When you visit Krakow, you should certainly do this !!! Then we took a visit to a medieval museum (because I had to for school :(, it's not really my thing).

In the evening we went to one of the trendiest restaurants in the city; "Plac Nowy 1". It's known for its delicious burgers, so we had one! Not only the taste of the burgers, but also the presentation was to die for! We had certainly value for money. The restaurant was super cool decorated, it looked like an old warehouse. Be sure you book your table in advance! A nice way of ending the day.
day 4:
The last day was the most special day! We woke up early and went to the Oskar Schindler Factory. This museum is known from the movie of Oskar Schindler. An old movie (in black and white) about Jews who worked in this factory during World War II. To stay in this theme we took a bus to Auswitch. After a 2 hour-drive we arrived in the concentration camp. There we were faced with the cruel past of the Jews. We saw things that will stay with us forever. Just so unbelievable...It wasn't a fun trip, but definitely worth it. A must do when you are in Krakow. Then it was unfortunately time to pack our bags and go home :(
